Lavelle Industries is searching for a Lead Process Technician in our Whitewater, WI facilityThis role is an additional resource that will primarily support the Process Engineer in all phases of tooling qualification through PPAP. The position will also support process tech and molding Assistant Supervisors. Under the Process Engineer’s direction, the Lead Process Technician works to ensure new and existing tooling is ready to run while meeting required quality standards. This position has a significant impact on OEE, on-time delivery, and customer satisfaction.

The Responsibilities

The Lead Process Technician’s major role is to support the Process Engineer through qualifying new and existing tooling. While also helping startup, troubleshooting, tooling, and production.

  • Ensure that the tooling within the scope of responsibility is qualified to run with minimal delays
  • Includes New Product Launch and sustainment of existing tooling
  • Submit sampled parts and necessary documentation for PPAP
  • Performs mechanical, electrical, and electronic troubleshooting of process equipment and tooling
  • Assists in preventative maintenance requirements
  • Maintains & audits standard work pertaining to process set-up sheets
  • Supports the TPM program
  • Assists Maintenance and Tooling as required
  • Set up, operate, and maintain process equipment and tooling
  • Supports safety programs such as LOTO and machine guarding
  • Assures presses are operating within set-up parameters
  • Participates in Gemba walks
  • Utilizes Gemba boards to make continuous improvement projects visible and track progress
  • Monitor, diagnose, and remedy operational performance of equipment/material/molds

Experience

The successful candidate will have a blend of experience for this position

  • Experience in injection molding tool qualification
  • Experience with the scientific molding process
  • Experience with the PPAP process and documentation is a plus
  • Experience with statistical process control is a plus
  • Must be proficient in MS Office, specifically Excel and Word

Education

  • An associate degree in mechanical technology, industrial technology, plastics or equivalent experience is preferred
