Lavelle Industries Inc. is in search of a Maintenance Planner in our Whitewater, WI facility. This role is responsible for the effective planning, scheduling, and coordination of all maintenance activities within the facility. The role ensures optimal utilization of resources, reduces downtime, and aligns maintenance operations with production goals. This individual collaborates with cross-functional teams to drive efficiency and continuous improvement using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).

Key Responsibilities:

Maintenance Planning and Scheduling: 

  • Develop and maintain detailed schedules for preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance tasks.
  • Coordinate with the Production Planner to align maintenance schedules with production needs and minimize disruptions.
  • Prioritize work orders based on equipment criticality, operational requirements, and safety considerations.

Inventory Management:

  • Manage and optimize spare parts inventory for the entire maintenance department.
  • Monitor inventory levels to ensure critical components are stocked without overstocking.
  • Develop and maintain a systematic approach to inventory tracking within the CMMS.
  • Collaborate with procurement to ensure timely ordering and delivery of parts and materials.
  • Analyze inventory usage data to identify cost-saving opportunities and reduce waste.

CMMS Management:

  • Oversee the use of the CMMS to track work orders, equipment history, and maintenance schedules.
  • Ensure accurate and timely data entry for all maintenance activities.
  • Generate reports on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

Resource Coordination:

  • Allocate labor, tools, and materials efficiently to meet maintenance objectives.
  • Collaborate with maintenance technicians, mechanics, and automation specialists to ensure proper task execution.
  • Monitor inventory levels for critical spare parts and coordinate procurement as needed.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Identify and implement opportunities for process improvements within the maintenance department.
  • Support root cause analysis initiatives to address recurring issues and enhance equipment reliability.

Communication and Reporting:

  • Facilitate weekly planning meetings to review work order progress and upcoming tasks.
  • Provide clear communication regarding maintenance priorities and updates.
  • Prepare and present detailed reports on maintenance performance metrics and resource utilization.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED (required); technical degree preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in industrial maintenance or planning.
  • New grads or internal candidates may be considered upon review of their qualifications

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in using CMMS software (e.g., MaintainX, SAP PM, or similar platforms).
  • Strong knowledge of maintenance processes, equipment, and preventive maintenance techniques.
  • Understanding of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities to collaborate with diverse teams.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
