Life at Lavelle - Whitewater, WI

We have openings at our Whitewater, WI location for Injection Mold Changeover personnel in a manufacturing environment. Employees will be required to operate equipment safely and efficiently. While ensuring the production of quality goods, the candidate will have to work according to work instructions. Individuals must adhere to the objectives of both safety and environmentally Lean production while performing duties in the workplace. This position is responsible for supporting the entire press operation primarily through performing mold changeovers.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive to succeed while working in priority order of safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
  • Actively work with safety and cleanliness at the forefront of all activities.
  • Ensure proper installation of molds into plastic injection equipment.
  • Ensure all nozzles, hoses are correct for the tool, and accurately installed.
  • Load the correct program into the machine for the tool.
  • Make first article parts and adjust machine as necessary to ensure parts meet all quality standards.
  • Wipe down all tools and equipment routinely.
  • Maintain awareness of other workers within your work area to ensure they are safe from potential hazards.
  • Inspect/operate crane system with safety as the first priority.
  • As time allows - minor adjustments of auxiliary equipment, manually changing resins, inspecting molded products and packing products for use in assembly or for shipment.
  • Produce quality products while meeting expected goals while following standard work of processes.
  • Must be mature, detail-oriented and safety-driven individual who works well in a team and self-propelled setting.
  • Operate basic injection molding press functions such as opening/closing molds and purging material.
  • Store all tooling safely and in a manner that protects them from damage.
  • Anticipate operational needs and prepare game plan to achieve daily workload.
  • Record quality data as necessary
  • Maintain a clean work environment and ensure everything is in its place, uphold 5S / TPM.
  • Work both as a press operator and assembler as needed.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to comprehend and follow verbal and written instructions along with perform basic math calculations.
  • Ability to work at an established level of production as appropriate to the job.
  • Ability to lift loads of up to 50 pounds and able to stand on feet for entire shift.
  • Basic understanding of plastic injection machinery.
  • Basic understanding of various fittings, nuts/bolts, screws and torque wrenches etc.
  • Use sound logic to make adjustments to equipment.
