 Join our team! Lavelle Industries, Inc. is searching for a Process Technician to support our Whitewater, WI facility. The Process Technician is a resource that will support the process engineer, tooling, and assistant supervisors. This role works as part of a team to plan, analyze, and control the quality of injection molded plastic products, and this position has a significant impact on OEE, on-time delivery, and customer satisfaction.  

The Responsibilities

  • The Process Technician’s major role is to support daily operations with tooling startup, troubleshooting, and generally minimizing press downtime due to changeovers and day-to-day obstacles.
  • Performs tool start-ups after mold changes. Verifies mold, material, setup, and part quality
  • Perform mold changes as required
  • Assists in training operators when necessary
  • Maintain and audit standard work pertaining to process documentation, and ensure that equipment is operating as documented
  • Performs mechanical, electrical, and electronic troubleshooting of process equipment and tooling, assisting maintenance and tooling as required
  • Assists the process engineer on continuous improvement projects
  • Assist with mold samples
  • Supports the TPM program
  • Complete in-press insert changes
  • Set up and operate process equipment (press and secondary equipment) and tooling
  • Supports safety programs such as LOTO and machine guarding
  • Participates in Gemba walks
  • Utilizes Gemba boards to make continuous improvement projects visible and track progress.
  • Monitor, diagnose, and remedy operational performance of equipment/material/molds.
  • Assists production supervisors and the Quality Dept as necessary.

Experience

The successful candidate will have a blend of experience for this position:

  • 1+ year experience in injection molded plastics
  • Experience with the scientific molding process 
  • Experience with statistical process control is a plus
  • Must be proficient in MS Office, specifically Excel and Word

Education

An Associate's degree in mechanical technology, industrial technology, plastics or equivalent experience is preferred.
