Join our team of Toilet Geniuses! Lavelle Industries is a leading rubber and plastics manufacturer for the plumbing industry. We have a full-time press operating position available in our Whitewater facility. This position might be the right fit for you if you enjoy physically demanding work, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and enjoy working in an air-conditioned factory setting. As a Press Operator, you will be responsible for the setup and operation of plastic molding machines and other equipment.

What will you be doing?

  • Operation and monitoring basic standards of plastic injection molding machines.
  • Minor adjustments of auxiliary equipment, manually changing resins, inspecting molded products and packing products for use in assembly or for shipment.
  • Produce quality products while meeting expected goals while following standard work of processes to complete tasks safely and efficiently
  • Operate basic injection molding press functions such as opening/closing molds and purging material.
  • Operation of machinery and material set-up and shut down
  • Store molded products in appropriate container such as totes or boxes while maintaining proper labeling of finished and work in process products.
  • Prepare resin dryers by cleaning out the previous material, loading new material and adjusting settings.
  • Conduct routine cleaning and inspection of equipment to meet 5S and TPM requirements.
  • Record and submit accurate production and quality data, work records, etc., appropriate to the job.

Physical and Environmental Requirements:

  • Ability to comprehend and follow verbal and written instructions along with perform basic math calculations
  • Ability to work at established level of production as appropriate to the job.
  • Ability to lift loads of up to 50 pounds and able to stand on feet for entire shift.
  • Good physical mobility.

What shifts are available? 

Monday through Friday shifts

  • 7am - 3pm (1st Shift)
  • 3pm - 11pm (2nd shift)

Requirements

  • Drive to succeed while working in priority order of: safety, quality, delivery, and cost. 
  • Be a mature, detail-oriented and safety-driven individual who works well in a team and self-propelled setting. 
  • Produce quality products while meeting OEE goals. 
  • Accurately inspect parts and record results timely. 
  • Accurately maintain downtime codes and reject parts within the Ignition system. 
  • Engage visual Ignition OEE boards to understand operational deficiencies and seek correction. 
  • Be responsible for quality and performance outcomes of assigned machines. 
  • Ensure correct raw materials are present and machines are not starved of material, including cleaning and preparing dryers. 
  • Prepare presses for changeovers when necessary. 
  • Store molded products in appropriate containers such as totes or boxes while maintaining proper labeling of products. 
  • Properly move scrap and runners to their correct locations. 
  • Move WIP product to defined locations. 
  • Maintain a clean work environment and ensure everything is in its place, uphold 5S (white and yellow sheet checklists). 
  • Work other manufacturing equipment as needed. 
  • Work assembly all roles as needed.
